Gymnocalycium subgenus Pirisemineum – a reconsideration

An expansion of the subgenus Pirisemineum, which has so far comprised merely the species Gymnocalycium zegarrae and G. pflanzii, is presented. Based on molecular genetic research and morphological features the subgenus is rearranged and expanded by the species G. cabreraense, G. chacoense, G. chiquitanum and G. paediophilum.
